Hi, I'm Salvatore, a fledgling polyglot from 🇬🇧🇮🇹.
¿Who am I?

I am a PhD student in Translation, Languages and Cultures. I work as a foreign languages teacher and I currently speak 18 languages: English🇬🇧, Italian🇮🇹, Spanish🇪🇸, Portuguese🇧🇷, Swedish🇸🇪, Mandarin Chinese🇨🇳, Indonesian🇮🇩, Malay🇲🇾, Papiamento🇦🇼, Haitian Creole🇭🇹, Croatian🇭🇷, Dutch🇳🇱, Catalan🇦🇩, Valencian🥘, Neapolitan🌋, Swahili🇰🇪, Serbian🇷🇸 and Tagalog🇵🇭.
If I were to describe myself in two adjectives, they would most likely be: passionate and tenacious. On the one hand, I am passionate about foreign languages, a lover of new cultures, and knowledgeable about etymologies. On the other hand, I deem myself both stateless and a global citizen at once, and being away from home (Heimat) hones my tenacity. As a natural traveller, sometimes I feel like I spend more time in the sky than on solid ground; I'm always daydreaming or on a plane traveling. If you meet me on the street, I'll probably be reading a book in Swedish, listening to Chinese music, or conversing with someone in Indonesian. I love minority languages; Quechua takes me to the moon (or cloud nine), and Basque warms my heart. Like you, I also have a dream: to explore the world and be generous.
